"..But no one slept that night. All they could think of was how terribly lonely I must have felt. You see, loneliness was something my friends understood -- all too well." -- the voice of the dead narrator on Desperate Housewives
This blog began a few months after the surgery which allows me to walk now. I began this blog in an effort to document my struggles to deal with a life-changing injury: in June 2002, my right hip swelled, cutting off the blood flow down my leg which caused the main vein to swell to twice its normal size. Over the following weekend, the vein filled with a huge blood clot.
That was only the beginning. My hip joint deteriorated quickly over the next two years, and my relationship deteriorated even more quickly because I was involved with a disappointed, abusive woman. Her abuse increased as I became ever more unable to move, or sit, or stand.
She used the Intervention Order process in Victoria as a tool for extortion, and further abuse.
The blog begins in a terribly confused and frustrated time in my life. I suffered months of aggravated depression, anxiety attacks that went on for weeks. And as a result became involved in the struggle for equality before the law for men.
