NZ Protests

In May, Principal Family Court Judge Peter Boshier said protesters were going beyond acceptable limits.
"It has all the hallmarks of personal vendetta by individuals who do not respect the legitimacy of the court," he said.
Mr Bagnall said the soaking would not deter the protesters.
"Some of the guys were saying this is the most fun they've had for ages."
There is a tendency to rely on pith: Perhaps, Justice Boshier, the protestors are trying to tell you the court is no longer considered legitimate by the people. You might note that the final judgment of the legitimacy of government and the courts lies not with you, Justice Boshier, or the attornies, but with the people.
When the people stand up and demonstrate, it is worth listening to.

These are not criminals, J Boshier. They are ordinary people, men and women, who see clearly what you refuse to see. These are the people who give the courts legitimacy. Without their approval, you, your court, and the attorneys are nothing more than criminal dictators.
In their eyes, you and your court are the criminals. Their eyes are the eyes that matter, J Boshier.

Remember, government without the approval of the people is simply a dictatorship.
How many times have these ordinary people demonstrated to make you live up to your duties, J Boshier?
